Domain Registrations

All personal and financial information used to register, renew or transfer a domain is submitted to the domain registrar (Special Domain Services, Inc.) at the time of registration, renewal or transfer. Some of the nonfinancial submitted information is then available with the registered domain from a WHOIS server and may be searched, without cost, by anybody who so desires. This is not our policy. It is a requirement to register a domain and will occur no matter where you register it.

People can and do extract information from the WHOIS database and use it for marketing purposes, in spite of the WHOIS database usage policy forbidding it. You can expect to receive phone calls, faxes, junk mail (the paper kind), and spam based on the information you provide.

In short, information submitted for a domain registration is made public. Be extremely careful about what information you give.
